Bare Bottom is proud to present it's web site. It is is a work in progress, plans are to show you photos of the garden, a listing of the varieties grown, and finally an area telling you where you can find Bare Bottom veggies for sale. There might even be room to include a few great gardening links! You're invited to check in often and experience the garden as it grows. So sit back and enjoy this little quiet corner of the web!
Bare Bottom Farms really began in about 1981 when I had a garden space in humboldt county, it was a huge area complete with a couple a green houses. I grew all of my produce that year right from seed packages. The space was not mine though and like many great endeavors had to be abandoned when it became time to move on. After moving around for several years I have once again established a graden in west marin county. The first year was dedicated to building the soil, starting with lots of llama and rabbit manure. Next came copious amounts of oyster shells, bonemeal, and lots of home grown compost. The first marin garden was a disaster, the plants went in late, there was no water, with deer and insects eating most of the crop. Bare Bottom garden number two was a bit more organized and provided much of my needs for fresh veggies. Now I enter into year number three, the garden is much larger. Large enough in fact to think about growing some good fresh produce for family and friends. I sincerely hope you enjoy this effort either as a virtual visitor or as a consumer of great produce from Bare Bottom Farm.
